Question by : Winchester Model 94AE worth 0?
Near me locally is one of these for sale for around $ 400. It has the 20″ inch barrel, a gold trigger, and is in about 95-100% condition. I don’t have the serial number so I don’t know the year. Is it worth the coin?
The seller claims it was made in the late 80′s/early 90′s.

Only if it is a pre-1964. And without the serial there is no way to know.

I think the “AE” model was one of the budget versions of the model 94, but could be wrong here.
To me personally no recently produced used model 94, with a few exceptions, is worth $ 400. A price of $ 300 – $ 350 would be my limit. But everyone is different, so if you want it, I say get it.

well, it might be worth it, take a hard look at the barrel before you buy it. the 30-30 isnt a barrel burner, but, it can still have deferred maintainence issues resulting in pits and nastys in the lands.
talk to the guy and see if he can give yiou a rough history of how many rounds have gone down the barrel.
check the action for play and loosenes in the trigger assy, & bolt / lever assy.
